OEMs favor plastic injection molding due to the ability to manufacture abundant plastic components with high-quality consistency. With over 50 years of experience, we have dedicated tooling engineers for our in-house designs and processing engineers to develop the most efficient process for the highest quality product. With our diversified, cross-functional team, we manufacture to our individual customer’s needs.
Twin Shot
Two-shot injection molding is also called dual-shot, double-shot, multi-shot, 2k, and twin-shot injection. This is the process of running different raw material resins in one press. Embracing the versatility of two-shot injection molding, Nifco enhances product aesthetics and functionality and reinforces its position as an industry leader. The use of this technology reflects Nifco's commitment to delivering customized solutions that surpass expectations. Nifco utilizes this technology to meet the most stringent customer requirements:
water sealing
automation
multi-color products
Weld assembled products
Insert Molding
Insert Molding Is shooting plastic over an object, commonly a metal ring or threaded bushing. Using robotics and bowl feeders, Nifco automates the loading of inserts for high-quality products, resulting in decreased cycle times. We use this technology to meet the increased demands of our customers for stronger products while utilizing the advantages of injection molding. Below are examples of how Nifco is excelling in our field:
Automated assembly is quickly becoming a key process in American manufacturing for all industries. Here at Nifco, we have mastered the art of building and coding automation equipment in-house to ensure accuracy, adjustability, and quick turnaround. Our team of engineers has a keen knowledge of manufacturing software and the design of robots. Automation allows for:
High-quality checks
Faster production
Human free interaction
Welding Abilities
Nifco has a comprehensive range of welding techniques at its disposal, each serving specific functions and possessing unique capabilities. Our team is comprised of skilled and seasoned engineers who adeptly operate these diverse welding styles, ensuring proficiency in their application, and extending their expertise to encompass an array of additional welding methods:
Vibration Welding
Ultrasonic Welding
Laser Welding
Manual
Our manual assembly capabilities influences the production process of injection-molded plastic components. Following their production, these components undergo careful hand assembly by our skilled technicians. Precision is paramount as our experts carefully join mating components, prioritizing quality throughout the manual assembly process. This approach provides numerous advantages for our clients:
We have a dedicated in-house design team that works on custom designs for our customers.
Mold Flow
Mold Flow is a simulation software that allows our engineers to troubleshoot problems with plastic flow. This advanced software enables the ability to address manufacturing challenges such as part warpage, cooling efficiency, and cycle time reduction.
FEA
FEA, also known as finite element analysis, is a simulated situation that gives our engineers a means to understand part stress. This allows for the optimization of our design process.
Lab Capabilities
Nifco's in-house capabilities give us a step up on other plastic injection molding companies. Our lab enhances our ability to perform a wide variety of tests on our products to create the most efficient products. The capabilities that our lab offers are:
We are excited to announce the presentations and winners of our regional GNNP competitions. This year, we had 14 presentations, which set a new milestone for our regional competitions!
Each presentation demonstrated a high level of innovation. We were privileged to have 3 judges from Japan, Sakurai-san, Hamaguchi-san, and Kinouchi-san. Additionally, Kevin Hardy, Jeremy Rogers, and Sato Masahiko served as judges from the Nifco America side.
In the end, the top 3 presentations were: 1st- Golden Machine Monitoring System by Cristian Alejandro Peña, Mariana Sánchez Abes, and Gerardo Cardenas (Chihuahua, Mexico) 2nd- Customer Playbook by Nicholas Muncy and Rachel Purser (Canal Winchester, Ohio) 3rd- Scrap Reduction by Jamie Hardin (Shelbyville, Kentucky)
Congratulations to all the presenters, and good luck to the Chihuahua team who will be traveling to Japan in early November to participate in the global competition.

2024 Nifco Quarter 2 Awards!!
WINNERS!
Agility and Innovation Award: Cristian Alejandro Peña and Mariana Sanchez successfully implemented "Brainwriting 6-3-5 sessions" across all departments, significantly enhancing creativity and teamwork for the G-NNP project. Their commitment to fostering a collaborative environment has empowered our teams to generate innovative ideas, strengthened our innovation processes, and contributed to our ongoing success.
Engineering Award: Jonathon Travis thought freely and had the vision to develop a test station for end-of-arm tools (EOAT). The EOAT can now be installed, vacuum-tested, and sensor checked on the test bench. This has helped catch vacuum leaks and worn components and has also aided in setting limit switches correctly. Previously, to test, we had to take the EOAT out to a press that wasn`t running or manually plug and unplug the air lines. Jonathon`s inventive thinking created an efficient and inexpensive replacement.
Leadership Award: Cameron Deeds has effectively led the initiative to gather critical data and information needed for the success of the WMS project. His proactive approach to keeping the group informed and addressing challenges as they arose has been invaluable. Cameron`s dedication to this project has significantly contributed to its progress and success.
Kaizen Award: As a team, David Williamson, Justin Joiner, Chris Wunch, Luz Perez, Tinsley Howard, James Thompson, Chris Scalf, and Yasmin Ibarra worked together to change the Aisin End Caps to a pre-colored material. This eliminated an issue with light color. They removed the risk of a chronic quality concern and reduced material costs.
Award presented by Michael A. Rodenberg, CEO of Nifco North America. #Nifco #Kaizen #Engineering #Innovation #Leadership #EmployeeRecognition #Awards #Teamwork #Dedication
